Rockets Select Patrick Patterson With The 14th Overall Pick

Stay connected for news and updates

The Rockets selected Kentucky forward Patrick Patterson with the 14th overall pick in the NBA Draft. According to Jason Friedman's Twitter, there was applause as North Carolina forward Ed Davis went off the board and the Rockets knew their guy would be there.

The 6-foot-9 Kentucky forward averaged 14.3 points per game on 57.5percent shooting after being relegated to "the old man" role for the team as first overall pick John Wall and fifth overall pick DeMarcus Cousins dominated the ball. Draft Express' best case scenario for Patterson might be one that's familiar to Rockets fans: Carl Landry.
