Rockets Ink Scola, Accomplish Offseason Retention Goal

According to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle, the Houston Rockets have agreed to a deal with restricted free agent power forward Luis Scola.

Rockets reach a deal with Luis Scola, a source said. Deal for five years, worth $47 million.

The details of the deal were not disclosed. The Rockets have now retained both of their restricted free agents, a goal that was made public in press conferences leading up to the offseason back in May.

Scola, 30, averaged a career-high 16.2 points per game last season. His defensive rebound rate was tops among the league for much of the season as well. Scola will be an integral part of any success that the Rockets have in 2010. You should be ecstatic to see him return.
