Wojnarowski: Rockets Offering Ariza, Scola And Battier In Trade Talks

No stranger to NBA chatter, Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the Rockets are offering up three of their best players from last season in order to land a top-tier power forward via sign-and-trade.

In their quest to land either of the top two free-agent power forwards – Chris Bosh or Amar’e Stoudemire – the Houston Rockets have been offering Trevor Ariza, Shane Battier and free agent Luis Scola in potential sign-and-trade packages, league sources said.

The Rockets would like to keep Aaron Brooks if at all possible, though the first objective in landing Bosh or Stoudemire would be to convince either to come to Houston in the fist place. If the Rockets manage to do that, then trade talks will become relevant.

Bosh Sign and Trade

No way Scola, Battier, and Ariza for Bosh. Scola himself is a better team asset than Bosh. Plays hard on both ends of floor. Is a 20-10 power forward with a much better team game. Then throwing in our two best defensive players, which also depletes the depth of wing players is not a good idea. Rockets were a near playoff team last year and by adding Yao back, a full pre-season with Hill and Jefferies, we can compete for the championship right there. By giving up the farm to get Bosh, Rockets take a giant step backwards. Please, oh please Mr Morey, look inside your heart. Don’t do it! Stop now while you can and don’t think you have to make a “big” score to make the Rockets relevant. It doesn’t always work. I’ll take team chemistry with the return of the best center in basketball anyday of the week. Of course that’s just my opinion.

God, i hope this rumor is not true

We would be giving up way too much for Bosh. I think a fair trade would be Scola, Budinger, Hill, and a 1st round pick OR Scola, Hill, and two 1st round picks(10th and 12th pick from NY).
