Michael Bourn Selected To Represent Astros At 2010 MLB All-Star Game

Astros CF Michael Bourn has been selected to represent the Houston Astros at the 2010 MLB All-Star game in Anaheim. This will be his first All-Star Game appearance.

Bourn was chosen as a reserve by National League manager Charlie Manuel of the Philadelphia Phillies. Bourn was originally drafted by the Phillies back in 2003 out of the University of Houston.

Currently, Bourn is hitting .260 with 25 stolen bases and has been playing some of the best defense of his career for the second straight season, leading the entire league in outfield assists thus far. In 2009, Bourn earned his first Gold Glove award and is looking to repeat this season.

As Brian McTaggart points out, once Bourn takes the field on July 13, all three current Astros outfielders will have represented Houston as All-Stars, as Hunter Pence and Carlos Lee were selected in 2009 and 2007, respectively.
