Michaels, Wright Deliver To Complete Sweep For 'Stros

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Jason Michaels hit a pinch-hit grand slam in the seventh inning to back Wesley Wright's solid performance on the mound, as the Houston Astros beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-2, to complete a three- game sweep at Minute Maid Park.

Wright (1-1), making the third start of his career, gave up two runs on four hits over seven innings to pick up the win. The 25-year-old also struck out a career-high six batters and walked one.

Houston has won five in a row for the first time since a six-game winning streak from September 6-11, 2008. The Astros also swept the Brewers for the first time since doing so at home in three games from May 2-4, 2008.

Corey Hart hit a two-run homer for the Brewers, who have dropped five in a row.

Milwaukee starter Randy Wolf allowed one run on six hits before leaving with a left wrist injury in the seventh.Kameron Loe (1-2) replaced Wolf on the mound and was charged with two runs and two walks to take the loss.

Trailing 2-0, Michaels put the Astros ahead for good in the seventh. Hunter Pence led off the inning with a line drive that hit off the left wrist of Wolf and reached first on the play. Loe took over and walked two batters to load the bases. Zach Braddock came in from the bullpen and offered up the grand slam to Michaels, the first batter he faced.

Houston added another run in the eighth for a 5-2 lead. Pence tripled to right-center with one out and came racing home on Rickie Weeks's throwing error.

Brandon Lyon tossed a perfect ninth for his second save of the year.

Both starting pitchers dominated the early innings. Wolf allowed just two hits through four frames, while Wright retired the first 12 batters he faced.

Wright, though, gave up a leadoff single to Ryan Braun in the top of the fifth. The next three batters went down in order.

The Astros got a pair of hits in the home fifth to put men on first and second with one out. Humberto Quintero and Wright struck out to keep it a scoreless game.

Milwaukee finally got to Wright in the sixth. Wolf hit a ground-rule double to right and crossed the plate on Hart's two-out homer to right. The Brewers had been held scoreless in their last 23 innings coming into Sunday.

Michaels' slam was the fourth of his career...Houston has outscored its opponents 30-4 over its current winning streak...Astros third baseman Chris Johnson saw a 14-game hitting streak come to an end...Milwaukee went 1-for-22 with runners in scoring position in this series...Houston signed pitcher Brett Myers to a two-year contract extension...Astros first baseman Brett Wallace picked up his first MLB hit in the fifth.
