Report: Rockets Have Plenty Of Competition For Erick Dampier

Earlier we noted a report that state the Houston Rockets were pursuing big man Erick Dampier, who was recently waived by the Charlotte Bobcats.

Chris Mannix of SI.com reports that a number of teams are interested in Dampier’s services.

The Rockets, Raptors, Heat and Suns are among the teams interested in signing free agent center Erick Dampier, multiple league sources told SI.com

Another team that could get into the discussions for Dampier is Philadelphia. The Sixers traded starting center Samuel Dalembert to Sacramento and are thin at the position, with only newly acquired Spencer Hawes and Tony Battie as natural centers on the roster.
