Rockets Offseason: Chase Budinger Out 4-6 Weeks With Ankle Sprain

After a solid showing at the 2010 Las Vegas Summer League, it appears Chase Budinger will have to wait a while before he can return to the big league hardwood.

Jason Friedman of Rockets.com reports that Budinger suffered an ankle sprain during practice Thursday.

C-Bud sprained his left ankle yesterday during a scrimmage. Moderate to severe sprain. Can resume bball activity in 4-6 weeks.

Budinger suffered a similar injury last December when he landed on an opposing player’s foot in a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. It’s too bad, because Budinger had been looking much more comfortable with his game of late. Jermaine Taylor should be the primary beneficiary of Budinger’s injury – he’ll look to impress the coaching staff in an effort to make the team.
