Schefter: Leinart To Sign In Houston On One-Year Deal

Adam Schefter, via Twitter, is reporting that the Texans and Matt Leinart have reached agreement on a one-year contract.

No word yet on how this will affect the last spot on the practice squad, but Dan Orlovsky should watch himself. Of course, if he knew how to do that in the first place, maybe the Texans wouldn’t have had to pick up Leinart.

Leinart, the disgraced Cardinals QB, has been described by The Chronicle’s Lance Zierlein as being “afraid, pure and simple" and a “checkdown machine,” so think of him as David Carr without five years of NFL starts. This will probably be a bigger signing for the comedic possibilities of bloggers than for the actual Texans season.

The Best of the Worst

Well since there was no glut of QB Talent on the waiver wire, I guess the Smithiak Machine is making the best of the worst move for this organization. I fear that if and when Scaub goes down… We will see Lionheart take to the field… the challenge is that if it is sooner than later we should hope that he is a quick learner because if not we will definitely be Orlousy. Who should be worried about this situation? The fans of Houston? Not really because WE already know that if Schaub goes deep six… We are stuck between a rock and a rock with delusions of granduer… So who should be worried? Well If I was Andre Johnson….Kevin Walter… Jakespere… ODB….and all the other 21 recievers ( Mostly TE’s) I would be worried… And if I was Smith or Kubiak… I would be worried because I had not updated my resume… If I was Bob McNair.. I would be worried because he’ll be another looking at another season of mediocracy… so in the words of Alfred E Newman (Mad Magazine)… I would ask the question “What Me Worry?” If Schaub doesn’t go down.. then expect the playoffs at least…That is unless Smithiak.. decides to create a triple threat backfield sponsored by Buckhorn Beer and hires BFD, Rivers and myself to run the wishbone with zone blocking . That should be good for a fourth and 20 … Is Lynn Dickey still available? Are You Ready for Some Football? Of course we are!!!!! Go Texans!!

Doin stuff so nasty that you have to do it twice to confirm the level of nasty!!

Yeh, can't believe Tom Brady wasn't out there on waivers....

I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?
