NFL Power Rankings: ESPN Has Texans Moving Up After Yates' Debut

Stay connected for news and updates

The Houston Texans have moved up one spot in this weeks' ESPN Power Rankings from No. 8 last week to No. 7 this week. Despite losing quarterback Matt Leinart for the season with a shoulder injury, rookie quarterback TJ Yates out of North Carolina is set to take over the starting duties for the Texans, at least for this week.

The Texans sit at 8-3 on the season and currently hold a two-game lead in the AFC South division over the Tennessee Titans

The Titans come in at No. 17 in this weeks' power rankings after their hard-fought 23-17 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday. The Jacksonville Jaguars fall to No. 29 after their 7-point loss to the TJ Yates and the Houston Texans this past week, while the Indianapolis Colts again find themselves winless and in the basement at No. 32 in this weeks' rankings.
