The Texas A&M Aggies were looking for a big non-conference win when they took on the No. 13 Florida Gators, but the result did not go in favor of Texas A&M. The first half is what doomed Texas A&M as they were down 18-2 and then trailed 50-25 at the half and Texas A&M could not recover from that deficit.
The difference in this game was Florida getting to the free throw line 30 times compared to only 12 for Texas A&M, plus Florida used the three-point shot where they made 11 out of 31. Florida had four players in double figures led by Kenny Boyton who had 22 points with 18 of those from three-point range.
Texas A&M had three players in double figures and were led by David Loubeau and Elston Turner each scored 20 points, but that was not enough.
