Robert Griffin III Shines, Throws 5 Touchdowns In 56-31 Win Over Rice

Waco, TX (Sports Network) - Robert Griffin III threw five touchdown passes and added another score on the ground, powering the 17th-ranked Baylor Bears to a 56-31 victory over former Southwest Conference rival Rice at Floyd Casey Stadium.

Griffin finished with 338 yards on 29-of-33 efficiency. The junior quarterback has now completed 70 of his 82 passes this season, and he has thrown more touchdown passes (13) than incompletions.

Kendall Wright had 108 yards and one touchdown on 11 receptions for Baylor, which is off to its first 3-0 start since 2005.

Taylor McHargue threw three touchdown passes for the Owls (1-2), who were coming off a win over Purdue, their first against a team from a BCS conference since 2001, ending an 0-22 stretch.
