The LSU Tigers are No. 6 in the Week 8 BCS rankings, with Texas sneaking in at No. 25 after a blowout loss against Oklahoma.
The were only a few surprises in the NCAA BCS Rankings for Week 8, with the LSU Tigers (No. 6) one of the few teams that did not move up into the BCS rankings compared to their standing in the AP Top 25 and USA Today poll.
LSU is the highest ranked team with a loss in the rankings after beating the then-No. 3 South Carolina Gamecocks at home on Saturday, 23-21. The Tigers had previously lost to the Florida Gators on the road, 14-6, after a rather dominant start to the season overall.
Texas A&M, No. 20 in the AP Top 25, jumped to No. 18 in the BCS rankings thanks in large part to generous computer rankings. The Texas Longhorns, unranked in both the AP and USA Today Polls, snuck into the BCS rankings at No. 25 behind TCU (No. 23) and Iowa State (No. 24).
Florida (No. 2) was able to leapfrog Oregon (No. 3), who had been second in both the AP and USA Today rankings, as well as the Harris Poll. Alabama is the consensus No. 1 team across all rankings.
