Tim Heitman-US PRESSWIRE

The Longhorns started off strong, but Kansas has stepped up to hold a 14-7 lead.

After scoring on their first drive on the game, the Texas Longhorns have been held without points by the Kansas Jayhawks. After three quarters of play, KU leads 14-7.

Kansas has effectively run the ball all game long. Five players have combined to rush for 206 yards on 45 carries, averaging 4.6 yards a carry. Both of KU's scores were on the ground; Christian Matthews rushed in from 11 yards out for the first touchdown of the game, and then Tony Pierson ran it in from the 15-yard line to give the Jayhawks a 14-7 lead late in the second quarter.

The Texas offense has struggled all game long. David Ash is 8-for-16 for just 63 yards. He's thrown two interceptions and is yet to reach the end zone. Jonathan Gray has been the only bright spot for UT today, carrying the ball 16 times for 104 yards.

The fourth quarter is now underway. Time is running out for the Longhorns.
