The 2012 FCS Playoffs continue this Saturday, with Sam Houston State taking on Cal Poly at Bowers Stadium in Huntsville.

The 2012 FCS Playoffs began over the weekend, with Sam Houston State (8-3) able to rest and recover for one more week as they had earned a first-round bye in this year's tournament. The Bearkats did not need to await the winners of this weekend's four games, as they were already slated to host Cal Poly (9-2) on Dec. 1 in a second-round game at Bowers Stadium. Last year, Sam Houston State went undefeated in the regular season and throughout the playoffs before losing in the FCS Championship game to North Dakota State.

The four first-round matchup winners on Saturday: South Dakota State over Eastern Illinois, Coastal Carolina over Bethune-Cookman, Stony Brook over Villanova and Wagner over Colgate.
