NFL Injury Report: Texans stay healthy in Week 10

The Houston Texans took down the Chicago Bears on Sunday, 13-6, and also came out on the good side of the injury report. No big injuries were suffered during the game by Houston, despite a gritty and hard-fought game in the rain that saw very few points come out of a swampy field.

It was the Bears that ended up with the biggest injury story of the day, losing quarterback Jay Cutler after he was hit hard by Texans linebacker Tim Dobbins.

The biggest knocks for the Texans remain the injuries to nose tackle Shaun Cody and running back Ben Tate. Cody, who punctured a lung and injured a rib against the Buffalo Bills earlier in the year, missed the game and is still seen as day-to-day. Tate is still suffering from a hamstring injury suffered against the Baltimore Ravens. TE Owen Daniels missed the game because of a back injury and was the only member of the Texans who was listed as questionable before the game.

Houston will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars next Sunday as they look for a 9-1 record.

Texans vs. Bears 3rd Quarter Update: Bears close to 10-6

After three quarters in Chicago the Bears have pulled back a field goal thanks to along reception by receiver Brandon Marshall. Houston leads 10-6 after three quarters. Marshall caught a 45-yard pass from Jason Campbell that moved the ball all the way down to the Houston 10-yard line, setting up a 24-yard field goal from kicker Robbie Gould.

That was the only scoring play in a third quarter that continued to be dominated by defense. The Texans knocked bears quarterback Jay Cutler from the game with a possible concussion. Cutler has not played in the second half, giving way to Jason Campbell at halftime.

The Bears' offense has performed better in the second half under Campbell, however, as they have nearly doubled their total yardage after a rough first half. In turn, Chicago has stepped up its own defense to limit the Bears. After 85 yards in the first half Arian Foster only rushed for 9 third quarter yards.

Texans vs. Bears 2nd Quarter Update: Houston leads 10-3

Sunday night's game in Chicago was expected to be a defensive slugfest, but the wind and rain at Soldier Field have led to a bevy of turnovers so far. Houston has forced four turnovers against the Bears with two fumble recoveries and two interceptions. Chicago has picked off two Matt Schaub passes as well, but Houston leads 10-3 at the halftime break.

Arian Foster caught a two-yard touchdown pass from Schaub with 4:21 left in the half to give the Texans their 10-3 lead. That score was in answer to a 51-yard field goal from Robbie Gould that got the Bears on the board with 12:57 left.

Kareem Jackson added a second quarter interception to end a Bears drive at the Texans' 27 yard line.

Foster has rushed for 85 yards for Houston, whose defense has been stout in addition to the turnovers. Houston has only given up only 95 total yards on the evening.

Texans vs. Bears 1st Quarter Update: Houston leads 3-0

So far in Chicago the Bears and Texans have played a sloppy, turnover-filled game in the rain. Michael Bush and Kellen Davis have lost fumbles for the Bears while Jay Cutler threw an interception to Danieal Manning. Unfortunately, the Texans managed only three points to take an early 3-0 lead after one quarter.

Shayne Graham kicked a 20 yard field goal with 8:16 left in the quarter after Tim Dobbins recovered a fumble by Davis. The Texans have had their own turnover issues, with Keshawn Martin nearly fumbling the opening kickoff away and Matt Schaub throwing an interception to Tim Jennings. Martin has also lost a fumble.

Arian Foster already has 41 yards rushing on nine carries for the Texans, but Houston's defense has been the story so far. Houston has given up only 52 yards in addition to getting three turnovers so far.

Andre Johnson has three catches for 24 yards to lead Houston in receiving.
