The game was 66-63 Rockets at half, and after a close third quarter the Mavericks pulled away in the final period. A 12-point advantage over the last 12 minutes provided the winning margin for Dallas.
James Harden led the way for the Rockets, scoring 39 points on 10-of-16 shooting with six rebounds and nine assists. Chandler Parsons (18), Toney Douglas (13), Patrick Patterson (12) and Carlos Delfino (10) also finished with double-digit scoring efforts.
The Mavericks were led by O.J. Mayo, who scored 40 points while shooting 15-of-26 from the field. Chris Kaman added 20 points and seven rebounds, while Darren Collison (12) and Vince Carter (12) also finished in double figures.
