Kerrick Huggins Becomes Texas A&M's Seventh Commit For 2013 Class

Defensive tackle Kerrick Huggins became the seventh verbal commit in the 2013 class for Texas A&M. Huggins is a 6-foot-3, 283 pound defensive end from Dallas Skyline high school. Huggins is rated as a four-star recruit by Rivals and is rated No. 154 in their initial top 250 for 2013.

Huggins also had offers from SMU, Colorado State, North Texas and Texas Tech, and He also was receiving interest from Texas, Oklahoma, Oregon, Mississippi State and Arkansas. Ultimately Huggins chose Texas A&M because he said it was the only school in Texas where he could play in the SEC.

Huggins was recruited by wide receivers David Beaty and that was one reason why Huggins choose Texas A&M:

"Coach Beaty started talking to me on Facebook a couple of months ago. I like him a lot; he's a cool dude," he said. "And they said that when I got there, I'd have a chance to come in and get some playing time right away."

Texas A&M is starting to put together a very nice 2013 class, so far they have four recruits who are rated as four stars by Rivals and six being ranked in the ESPN 150.
