Stay connected for news and updates

The Texas A&M Aggies' 4-2 victory on Sunday completed a three-game sweep over the San Diego State Aztecs. Aggies third baseman Matt Juengel hit a clutch three-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning to give his team the win. Despite collecting ten hits, the Aztecs offense was unable to break through against Texas A&M's pitching.

Aggies starter Rafael Pineda pitched 6.2 innings, allowing eight hits but only giving up one earned run. The Aztecs left eight runners on-base on Sunday. Pineda is 5-1 with a 2.61 ERA in his 12 starts.

Ranked No. 8 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll, the Aggies are 6-1 in the month of May. The team ends their regular season hosting Texas State on Tuesday and then heading to Stillwater for a three-game series against the Oklahoma Sooners. Texas A&M is currently tied for third place in the Big 12 with Oklahoma State and Texas.
