I'll Have Another kept alive their shot at winning horse racings first triple crown when they won the 137th Preakness Stakes on Saturday evening by edging out the favorite Bodemeister by a neck. The favorite to win the Preakness was Bodemeister and they looked very much like they were going to win the race.
Bodemeister rushed out of the gate in the lead with a pack of four horses which also included I'll Have Another, Pretension and Creative Cause. The race got interesting during the final stretch where Bodemeister had just over a horse-length lead ahead of I'll Have Another.
During the last 100 yards, I'll Have Another made a push and ultimately caught up to Bodemeister and surpassed them to win just by a neck.
The final leg of the triple crown is at the Belmont Stakes which takes place in three weeks at Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y.
