Rice will begin the C-USA tournament in another Bayou Bucket battle with cross-town rival Houston.

The 2012 Conference USA Tournament gets kicked off from Trustmark Park in Pearl, MS today with three games a day for the next four days. SBNation Houston has you covered on everything you need to know for today's matchups.

Memphis (5) vs Southern Miss (4), 11:00

  • Tiger left fielder Adam McClain hit .400 in the regular season, 40 points better than anyone else in C-USA
  • USM swept Memphis in April
  • USM Freshman pitcher Andrew Pierce was named Newcomer of the Year with a 1.73 ERA, 94 Ks, and 15 walks

Houston (8) vs Rice (1), 3:00

  • Rice won the regular season championship and is looking to secure a national seed in NCAA Regionals next week
  • Rice has won 16 of last 17 against Houston
  • Cougar LHP Jordan Lewis pitched 8.0 innings with 3 hits and 6 Ks against Rice earlier this year

East Carolina (6) vs Tulane (3) 7:00

  • ECU won the C-USA Tournament as a 6-seed in 2002, the only C-USA team to do so
  • ECU C Zach Wright has reached base safely in 16 straight games
  • The Wave have won 11 of their last 15
