Texas A&M Vs. Texas Tech: Aggies Win Game 2, 7-2

The Texas A&M Aggies were able to keep their Big 12 title hopes alive Saturday with a 7-2 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders. The Aggies need to sweep their three-game weekend series if they hope to stay alive for a conference title before moving on to the SEC next season. They are now a Sunday win away from doing so.

Ross Stripling pitched a gem, giving up two runs, just one earned, and four hits in eight innings pitched. He struck out 13 during the game, giving closer Corey Ross just one inning to finished off the Red Raiders. Ross gave up just one hit and no runs.

The Aggies took a 4-1 lead after two innings after Rusty Shellhorn gave up four runs on homers by Jacob House and Krey Bratsen. Shellhorn was pulled after giving up a third home run, a solo shot by Brandon Wood, in the fourth inning. House hit his second home run of the game in the fifth inning off of Brennan Stewart to cap all scoring. The Red Raiders scored on a Bo Altobelli single in the first and a Stephen Hagen sac fly in the fourth.

Game 3 will take place tomorrow, Sunday, at 1:05 CT.
