2012 U.S. Open: Tiger Woods 'Won't Be Talking A Lot' To Phil Mickelson

With the start of the 2012 U.S. Open now only a day away, there's still no bigger intrigue than the opening threesome of Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson.

The relationship between Woods and Mickelson, the two greatest golfers of their generation, has been psycho-analyzed to death over the years, as the two have always been cordial, if guarded, to each other.

Woods, a famously all-business golfer on the course, doesn't expect that to change this week:

"I don't think we're going to talk about a lot. This is a major championship. We've got work to do." Woods suggested he would put blinders on for the "long grind" that is the hallmark of any U.S. Open.

"It's such a test, playing in this championship," he said. "I think this is one of those championships that I think the guys talk the least to one another because it's so difficult."

For the most part, unlike Brett Favre, you really can't tell if Woods is "having fun out there".

Of course, if recent form holds, Woods may be better off asking Mickelson for tips rather than staying in his own head for two days.
