Stay connected for news and updates

Stop me if you've heard this before: Tiger Woods is the clear favorite to win one of golf's major events.

Woods, who is tied atop the leaderboard with Jim Furyk and David Toms, has emerged as the obvious favorite to win the 2012 U.S. Open, according to sports experts and bettors alike. Woods is currently a 5/4 favorite headed into Saturday's round.

Furyk has the second-best odds at 5/1 and Toms comes in at 10/1.

Despite being seven strokes over par, Phil Mickelson's odds are at 80/1 headed into Saturday's action. Mickelson barely made the cut, which was set at +8.

Round three is set to get underway on late Saturday morning. The first pairing, Kevin Streelman and Bo Van Pelt, will tee off at 9:15 a.m. PT, 11:15 a.m. locally here in Houston.
