2012 NCAA Super Regionals: Stony Brook Shuts Down LSU 3-1 To Even Series

Stay connected for news and updates

The LSU Tigers were looking forward to putting away the Stony Brook Seawolves on Saturday. Things were looking up for the Tigers after a 5-4 win in 12 innings after Friday's game had been postponed by rain. However, Stony Brook rebounded later in the afternoon and shut down the Tigers offense to just three hits in a 3-1 defeat in the Super Regionals at Alex Box Stadium on Saturday.

Tyler Johnson of Stony Brook threw complete game 3-hitter in the victory while striking out just one-hitter in the process. The series finale will be played on Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern, with the winner advancing to the College World Series.
