Thirteen athletes with area ties are heading to London for the Olympics.
The 2012 Summer Olympics are almost here. The opening ceremony is a week away, and the eyes of the world will soon turn to London, England, where the world's greatest athletes will compete for gold.
Diana Lopez (Houston) - Taekwondo (Team USA)
Diamond Dixon (Houston) - Track & Field (Team USA)
Marlen Esparza (Houston) - Boxing (Team USA)
Glenn Eller (Houston) - Shooting (Team USA)
Timothy Wang (Houston) - Table Tennis (Team USA)
Liezel Huber (Houston) - Tennis (Team USA)
Jonathan Horton (Houston) - Gymnastics (Team USA)
Chris Brooks (Houston) - Gymnastics (Team USA)
Leo Manzano (Granite Shoals) - Track & Field (Team USA)
Cammile Adams (Houston) - Swimming (Team USA)
Amy Acuff (Port Arthur) - Track And Field (Team USA)
There also are two athletes from outside the area that have ties with Texas A&M heading to London:
Breeja Larson (Mesa, AZ) - Swimming (Team USA)
Jeneba Tarmoh (San Jose, CA) - Track & Field (Team USA)
