Timothy Wang is a bright young star in American table tennis. He heads to the 2012 Olympics in London on a quest for gold.
It might be unexpected, but Houston will have a representative in the table tennis event at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Timothy Wang, a Houston native, will be part of the men's table tennis team and will attempt to bring a gold medal home for the United States.
Wang has been on a determined quest to make the U.S. Olympic team since 2010, when he exploded onto the scene as a 19-year-old. He will now shift his focus to a new goal: winning a medal in London. We won a singles national championship in 2010 and doubles and mixed doubles championships at the 2011 Nationals, where he placed third in singles competition.
Wang is considered to be an up-and-coming force in American table tennis and will have a chance to shine on the brightest stage possible over the next couple of weeks.
