Houston's Liezel Hubler is one of the favorites to medal this year with partner Lisa Raymond in the women's doubles tennis event at the 2012 London Olympics.

After missing out on a medal at her last two appearances at the Olympic games, Houston's Liezel Hubler is hoping that the third time is the charm for her at London. Competing in the women's doulbles tennis event with Lisa Raymond, the duo are the world number one ranked doubles team according to the WTA and one of the favorites to win the gold this year in London.

This is the third Olympic games for Hubler, and her second as a member of Team USA. Hubler represented her native South Africa at Sydney in 2000 before becoming a United States citizen and qualifying for the 2008 games in Beijing with partner Lindsey Davenport. Hubler and Davenport made it to the quarterfinals in Beijing before falling to Spain's Anabel Medina Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascual.

The women's doubles tennis event runs from July 28-August 5 at Wimbledon. Hubler and Raymond's biggest competition this year will most likely come from fellow Americans Serena and Venus Williams.
