Duane Brown Contract: Houston Texans Tackle Signs For $53 Million

Stay connected for news and updates

Adam Schefter tweeted the details of the Houston Texans' new contract with left tackle Duane Brown Thursday afternoon:

Texans fans appear to like the deal, and you don't need to be as good at watching football as Sandra Bullock to know that keeping Matt Schaub's backside clean should be a priority for Houston, who made the playoffs with third-string quarterback T.J. Yates under center last year. Brown was a second team All-Pro in 2011, and has started 60 games in his four-year career. Whoever is playing quarterback for Houston in future years (Schaub's contract ends at the end of the 2012 NFL season), he can rest assured that there is a veteran with some serious strength and agility protecting his blindside.
