Brian Cushing Injury: Texans Linebacker Could Miss Saints Game

Stay connected for news and updates

Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing has not practiced since injuring his ribs in Saturday's victory over the San Francisco 49ers and may be out when the Texans take on the Saints on Saturday.

The two-time All-Pro linebacker and 2009 AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year hasn't been ruled out of Saturday's game by Gary Kubiak but, considering it's just preseason and that Cushing hasn't seen the practice field since his injury happened, there's reason to doubt his playing status.

The Texans were extra cautious about his health in the first week of the preseason, holding Cushing out against the Panthers after a virus held him out of practice. He did return in week two, though, recording three tackles against the 49ers.
