Trevon Randle's request to play immediately for Houston after transferring from LSU was denied by the NCAA.

Linebacker Trevon Randle's request to play immediately in the 2012 season after transferring from the LSU Tigers program to play with the Houston Cougars was denied by the NCAA, the announcement was made by Houston head coach Tony Levine.

Randle spent one season with LSU before deciding to transfer closer to his home in League City, Texas. Coming out of high school Randle was a three-star recruit, was a top-50 player out of the state of Texas and rated as one of the best outside linebackers in the country.

Since Randle did not redshirt in the 2012 season at LSU he will use that option this year and that will give him three years of eligibility remaining starting in 2013 which will be Houston's first year in the Big East.
