Texas A&M Vs. Louisiana Tech: Bulldogs' 'Experience' Could Trip Up Aggies' SEC Debut

Stay connected for news and updates

While the Texas A&M Aggies opened as six-point favorites to beat the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in their debut as members of the SEC, the matchup could present an issue for the Aggies as the Bulldogs are a much more experienced group.

Even Texas A&M's first-year head coach Kevin Sumlin said as much. "Their advantage is their experience, their continuity -- their staff that's been together, their team that's been together," Sumlin told the Shreveport Times. "They have experience in the same offense and same defense."

Alternatively, the Aggies will trot out a brand new starting quarterback after the departure of Ryan Tannehill and will instead have Johnny Manziel, a redshirt freshman, taking over. A situation that has made the Aggies difficult to scout, according to Bulldogs head coach Sonny Dykes.

"The weird thing about this game is you have to watch four different films to know what is going on," Dykes told the Shreveport Times.

The two teams will face off against each other on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. CT.
