2012 U.S. Open Scores: Roddick Cruises To Straight Sets Win Two Days Shy Of 30th Birthday

Houston's Andy Roddick cruised to a straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4, victory over American Rhyne Williams Tuesday on Arthur Ashe Court in the U.S. Open.

In doing so, Roddick won 90 percent of his first serve points, had 21 aces and the No. 20-seed in the tournament advanced to the second round of the tournament he won in 2004. Just two days shy of his 30th birthday, Roddick won the last 16 points on his way to the win.

He will face the winner of Carlos Berlocq and Bernard Tomic, who are currently underway, Tomic is serving, 5-3, in the third set, having split the first two, 4-6, 7-5.

Fifth-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, No. 6-seed Tomas Berdych and No. 15-seed Milos Raonic were among the winners on the men's side Tuesday, the tournament's second day.

Houston's Mitchell Krueger, who lost in the second round of the U.S. Open qualifying tournament last week, announced he will turn pro after the U.S. Open Juniors tournament next week, instead of attending Texas A&M this fall.
