2012 PGA Championship: Carl Pettersson Alone At Top After First Round

Carl Pettersson shot a 6-under 66 and is alone in first place in the first round of the PGA Championship in Kiawah Island, S.C.

Pettersson made six birdies with no bogeys for his round. Austin resident Rich Beem shot even-par 72 and is tied for 45th, while former Texas golfer Matt Dobyns shot a 9-over 81 and is three spots from the bottom. Among other notable names, Rory McIlroy is tied for second at -5, Tiger Woods is three shots back after shooting a 3-under 69 and Phil Mickelson shot a 1-over 73.
