Stay connected for news and updates

With touchdowns on each of their first two possessions in the first quarter, the No. 3 LSU Tigers jumped out to a 14-0 lead over the Idaho Vandals, but Idaho cut that lead with a touchdown early in the second quarter. The Tigers take a 28-14 lead to halftime.

Quarterback Zach Mettenberger started off the scoring for the Tigers with a 17-yard pass to Kadron Boone and LSU added to their lead on their ensuing possession with a 3-yard touchdown run by Alfred Blue. Mettenberger is 9-of-13 for 117 yards and two touchdowns through two quarters.

A four-yard touchdown pass from Dominque Blackman to Michael LaGrone got the Vandals on the board, though, early in the second quarter.

The Tigers will begin the second half with the ball.
