Astros Vs. Pirates Series Preview: Game Time, TV Schedule And More

The Houston Astros travel to Cincinnati for a three-game series against the Reds.

The Houston Astros travel to Pittsburgh for a three-game series against the Pirates, looking to continue working on finding their own way under interim manager Tony DeFrancesco. The Astros are just 2-11 since DeFrancesco took over the team, with the pitching and batters still struggling.

Jimmy Paredes has just three hits in six games since being recalled from Triple-A, with the converted outfielder 1-for-9 in the three-game series against Cincinnati.

The Pirates, meanwhile, are still fighting for a Wild Card spot despite going just 3-7 in their past ten games. Pittsburgh trails St. Louis by 1.5 games.

Monday, Sept. 3: RHP Edgar Gonzalez (0-0, -.--) will take on LHP Jeff Locke (0-0, 0.00) in the first start of the year for both pitchers. First pitch is set for 12:35 p.m. CT with coverage on FS-Houston and KTRH.

Tuesday, Sept. 7: RHP Jordan Lyles (3-10, 5.46) faces LHP Wandy Rodriguez (2-4, 4.12); first pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. CT with coverage on FS-Houston and KTRH.

Wednesday, Sept. 8: LHP Fernando Abad (0-2, 4.83) takes on RHP Kevin Correira (9-8, 4.40); first pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. CT with coverage on FS-Houston and KTRH.
