Round one of the BMW Championship ended with a very top-heavy leaderboard and a four-way tie for first place. Webb Simpson, Bo Van Pelt, Rory McIlroy and Graham DeLaet all shot scores of 64 on the opening 18 holes, good for eight-under scores.
Texas native Bob Estes started strong but finished weak on Thursday during round one of play at Crooked Stick, ending up in 51st place with a one-under score. Texas A&M graduate Ryan Palmer, on the other hand, isn't doing too badly for himself with a six-under score that has him in tie for seventh place.
Tournament favorite Tiger Woods is only a stroke out of first place, tied with Vijay Singh with a seven-under score.
Here is the current top 9 on the leaderboard, which is followed by a several-way tie for 10th place.
