Serena Williams is headed to her sixth U.S. Open final after demolishing No. 10 seed Sara Errani 6-1, 6-2 in their semifinal match on Friday night at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
The fourth-seeded Williams crushed 38 winners as she repeatedly hammered cross-court replies in the 64-minute match. She also dominated the service game, racking up nine aces and winning 92-percent of her first serve points against the underdog Errani, who never broke Williams' serve.
In Saturday's final, Williams will meet top-seeded Victoria Azarenka, who toppled Maria Sharapova 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 in the early match on Friday afternoon. She is 9-1 lifetime against the Belarusian, including wins at Wimbledon and the Olympic semifinals earlier this year. She also defeated Azarenka in the third round of last year's U.S. Open, 6-1, 7-6.
The women's final will be played Saturday at 7 p.m. ET at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
