Houston is looking to get a win despite some recent struggles, but their chance comes against a Bengals team that has been hotter than nearly any other NFL squad.
The Houston Texans head to the playoffs looking to right the ship and move forward after a lackluster conclusion to their regular season, but the visiting Cincinnati Bengals have other designs.
After winning six in a row between Week 7 and Week 13, the Texans dropped three of their last four contests, with all four of those games coming against playoff-bound squads (the Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots). By contrast, the six-game winning streak featured only one team (the Baltimore Ravens) that would later make the playoffs.
Cincinnati has had the opposite experience. After starting the year off at just 3-5, the Bengals reeled off a stupendous 7-1 finish to make the playoffs. It should be noted, in fairness, that the Bengals recorded just two wins all season against playoff-caliber clubs. Houston had three.
