Norris Pitches A Gem, Astros Take Series With 5-0 Win

Final Score: Houston 5, Milwaukee 0

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Carlos Lee belted a three-run homer in support of Houston starting pitcher Bud Norris, but wound up leaving Sunday's 5-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers following a violent collision with teammate Angel Sanchez in the seventh inning.

Lee collided with Sanchez in shallow left field while pursuing a ball hit by Milwaukee's Mark Kotsay. It appeared the Astros shortstop kneed Lee in the ribs. Lee remained down for several minutes before being removed from the field on a cart. He was then taken to a local hospital to have tests performed on his left ribcage.

Norris (2-1) limited the Brewers to three hits and three walks in 7 2/3 innings. The right-hander also recorded 11 strikeouts, three shy of his career high.

Jason Bourgeois collected two hits and scored a run for Houston, which took two straight after dropping Friday's series opener.

Chris Narveson (1-2) gave up four runs on seven hits and fanned seven over six full frames for the Brewers.

The Astros produced a run with three consecutive singles by Lee, Brett Wallace and Bill Hall to leadoff the second.

Lee put Houston up 4-0 in the sixth with a blast to the left field seats, scoring Bourgeois and Hunter Pence after they both singled.

Facing Norris with two outs and a runner on first in the seventh, Kotsay hit a fly ball that fell in for a double and left Lee in pain. Yuniesky Betancourt flied out to right field to end the threat when play resumed.

Houston scratched out an unearned run in the bottom of the frame.

Game Notes

Wallace has now hit safely in 10 straight games...Milwaukee's Ryan Braun went 0-for-3 to snap his hitting streak against Houston at 13 games.
