Phillies Have Not Given Up On Hunter Pence

Stay connected for news and updates

The Houston Astros and Ed Wade may, or may not, have turned down an offer of Jarred Cosart, Jonathan Singleton and another prospect for Hunter Pence, but Philadelphia still seems intent on getting their man, no matter how many reports that the outfielder is staying put.

With Colby Rasmus and Carlos Beltran gone, it seems as if Wade's hardballing may in fact pay off, as Jim Salisbury of CSN Philly says that Ruben Amaro Jr may be forced to include Domonic Brown:

The Phils have been aggressive in pursuing Pence and there are indications that they would be willing to include outfielder Domonic Brown in a package for him.

Paul Hagan echoes this:

The Phillies face similar pressures but might have to decide if it's worth giving up, say, outfielder Domonic Brown.

As this rumbles on Jon Heyman says that the Astros are stepping up efforts to deal other players, Michael Bourn, Wandy Rodriguez and Brett Myers
