Houston Astros center fielder Jordan Schafer will miss the series finale against the Texas Rangers on Sunday with a sprained ankle.

Houston Astros center fielder is out of the lineup in Sunday's series finale of the interleague matchup with the in-state rival Texas Rangers after spraining his ankle trying to rundown a fly ball in Saturday's 6-5 victory.

The x-ray Schafer underwent came out negative, but Justin Maxwell will still play center field in his place on Sunday as the Astros look to take a series win over the best team in baseball. Ironically, Maxwell is the one Schafer avoided a collision with on Saturday when the two outfielders pursued a fly ball that neither of them was able to catch.

Since Maxwell is moving over to replace Schafer in center field, Brian Bogusevic will play in right field.

Schafer will undergo further tests on Monday to determine the seriousness of the ankle injury.
