Astros Trade Outfielder Justin Ruggiano To Marlins For Catcher Jobduan Morales

The Houston Astros have decided to trade 30-year-old outfielder Justin Ruggiano to the Miami Marlins in exchange for minor league switch hitting catcher Jobduan Morales. Ruggiano came to the Astros as non-roster invitee for spring training and was immediately sent to AAA Oklahoma City after spring training and has had played well by hitting .325 with five home runs and 29 RBIs in 39 games.

Morales is a young player at 20-years-old, but he has a few years of experience since he was a ninth-round selection in the 2009 MLB draft. He will report to the Astros extended spring training in Kissimmee, Fla., and will be assigned to one of the Astros minor league clubs shortly after.

Houston Astros Vs. Los Angeles Dodgers: Saturday Probables, TV Schedule And More

The Houston Astros look to win the second game of a three-game series on Saturday night, as they take on Chad Billingsley and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Houston took the opening game of the series on Friday night, defeating Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw in a close 3-1 contest.

On Saturday, Bud Norris will look to replicate the strong pitching performance of Lucas Harrell. Norris brings a 5-1 record into Saturday's tilt, to go along with a 3.14 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and .234 BAA. Norris has allowed just one earned run in his last 26 innings of work, dating back to May 5. Norris has won each of his last four starts.

Houston's offense will look to muster up more than three runs on Saturday, and should have an easier time against Billingsley than they did against Kershaw. Billingsley is 2-3 on the young season, with a 3.91 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and .270 BAA. Billingsley has failed to pitch more than six innings in his last four starts, and in two of them, he has only lasted four innings.

First pitch is scheduled for 9:10 p.m. CT from Dodger Stadium. Televised coverage can be found on FOX Sports Houston as well as MLB Network.
