The Astros will host red-hot division leader St. Louis, looking to defend their World Championship with a commanding NL Central lead.
The Houston Astros will host the St. Louis Cardinals for a series that will mark 27 consecutive division games for the visiting Cardinals, who have used that scheduling quirk to take a commanding lead in the NL Central. Lucas Harrell gets the nod for Houston to open to the series against hot veteran Kyle Lohse.
Center fielder Jordan Schafer's on-base streak is still intact - he took a walk in the first inning on Wednesday to bring the total to 24 games - but he left the game early with back pain.
