Well, things can't really go much worse for the Houston Astros on Thursday. After dropping the first game of the series against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday, the Astros were dominated by Matt Cain on Wednesday night, as Cain pitched one of the most perfect games in baseball history, pitching a perfect game while striking out 14 Astros.
On Thursday, Houston will try to rebound and avoid the sweep. Both Brad Mills and Bruce Bochy have announced the starting lineups for Thursday's matinee, and they are as follows:
Houston Astros
2B Jose Altuve
RF Brian Bixler
SS Jed Lowrie
LF J.D. Martinez
CF Justin Maxwell
3B Chris Johnson
1B Matt Downs
C Jason Castro
SP Wandy Rodriguez
San Francisco Giants
RF Gregor Blanco
2B Ryan Theriot
LF Melky Cabrera
CF Angel Pagan
3B Pablo Sandoval
C Hector Sanchez
1B Brandon Belt
SS Joaquin Arias
SP Barry Zito
At least Zito isn't quite the pitcher that Madison Bumgarner or Cain is, but he's still enjoying a successful year for the Giants.
