Astros Vs. White Sox Final Score: Houston Uses Long Ball To Defeat Chicago 8-3

The Houston Astros had two home runs, a two-run blast by shortstop Jed Lowrie and a three-run home run by left fielder Jeff Maxwell. Those five runs were enough to get the Astros past the Chicago White Sox 8-3. In addition to the offense explosion by the Astros, starting pitcher Wandy Rodriguez pitched well enough to earn his fifth win over the year.

Rodriguez lasted 5.1 innings and while he did give up nine hits he only allowed three earned runs, and then the relief pitching came in and pitched shut out baseball the rest of the way. Wilton Lopez, Wesley Wright, Fernando Rodriguez and Brett Myers combined for 3.2 innings of shutout baseball and also allowed only three hits and struck out four batters.

This win for the Astros was just its third in the last 13 games.
