With the Astros under new ownership and heading to the American League, new owner Jim Crane wants a fresh start and he is reportedly going to let manager Brad Mills go at the end of the season.

A lot of changes have happened with the Houston Astros over the past year, and those changes could keep on coming as Fox Sports Ken Rosenthal is reporting that his sources are saying that manger Brad Mills will be let go by seasons end.

Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said that no changes would be made, and Mills contract would be discusses at the end of the season:

"We haven't talked about next year at all," Luhnow said. "I've told everyone we're going to wait. I'm not even thinking about it at this point Brad has done a good job. We get along well. There is no reason to make a change."

"At the end of the year is when I'm going to spend time looking at all aspects of the operation. But I'm not spending time on it right now."

There are many reasons to why the Astros would not pick up their club option for Mills, and the easy answer is to point to the 32-52 record. However, other reasons are because Mills was hired under by former owner Drayton McLane and general manager Ed Wade. New owner Jim Crane will likely want a new start with the Astros heading to the American League West next season.

The early candidates to replace Mills are Astros bench coach Joe Pettini, Cincinnati Reds Double-A manager Jim Riggleman and Cardinals' first-base coach Chris Maloney.
