Astros Acquire Pitcher Garrett Mock From Red Sox

The Houston Astros made another trade when they acquired former Houston Cougar pitcher Garrett Mock from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for a player to be named later. Mock will immediately report to the Astros Triple-A Oklahoma City.

While with the Red Sox organization this past season, Mock was with their Triple-A affiliate Pawtucket he had 35 appearances with an ERA of 3.33. The Astros were able to land Mock after the July 31 non-waivers trade deadline because he was a non-40-man roster player.

Mock does have major league experience where he played from 2008-10 with the Washington Nationals and during that time he pitched 135.2 innings pitched with an ERA of 5.17.
