Astros Vs. Phillies Game Recap: Philadelphia Defeats Houston 12-6

The Houston Astros were unable to make it two in a row against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies, losing 12-6 Friday night. The Phillies bats dominated the Astros pitching staff, scoring 12 runs on 16 hits.

The Phillies jumped to an early lead with a four-run first inning, and the Astros never recovered. The Astros trailed 7-4 in the 5th inning following center fielder Justin Maxwell's solo home run, but the Phillies expanded their lead with two runs in the 7th and three more in the 8th.

Maxwell scored again in the 8th, coming home from second on a wild pitch by Philadelphia's Justin De Fratus, and Jose Altuve scored in the 9th on a throwing error by Kevin Frandsen, but the Astros couldn't put together any additional offense.
