Jazz Add Former Coog Cousin

I understand that for Rocket fans, a hometown kid joining the Jazz makes him the enemy, but nonetheless, I was glad to see Utah picking up former Houston Cougar and NBDL-er Marcus Cousin (pronounced Cooz-on).

Cousin played two years for the Coogs after transferring from Seton Hall. His first year was disappointing - despite his 6'11" frame, he seemed averse to playing in the paint. But his senior year, he finally seemed to "get it," averaging 10.9 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.1 blocks, and at least one emphatic dunk every couple games. For him to get the call to the NBA shows just how far he has come.

I'll also never forget him obligingly posing for a picture standing next to my 5'1" then-girlfriend in the campus cafeteria. Enemy or no, a big best of luck goes out to Marcus Cousin.
