Jacob Tucker, Division III's David Eckstein, Wins NCAA Dunk Contest

Jacob Tucker, of tiny Illinois College, defeated John Williams of UNC-Asheville in the finals to win the NCAA’s Slam Dunk Contest Thursday night. Tucker completed four dunks, capped off by jumping over a friend who was holding the ball, taking the ball, and dunking it with a reverse slam to earn a perfect 50. Williams was a worthy competitor, at one point jumping over Memphis’ Will Coleman in the backcourt en route to a strong dunk.

Here are Tucker’s highlights:

Williams’ are here (apologies for the song):

Cerie Mosgrove of UMass won the women’s three-point contest, but was exhausted in the final rack of the deciding shootout and lost to College Of Charleston guard Andrew Goudelock 16-15. Her last shot with the moneyball, that could have won it for her, clanged off the rim to the left.

Brittney Scott of Houston finished in fourth place in the women’s shootout, and LaceDarius Dunn of Baylor also fell in the semifinals of the men’s shootout.
